Full version of Protector Suite 2012 now free

Since AuthenTec was acquired in Oct this year, they discontinued their current products. However, according to 5.9.8.7279's release note, it is very nice of them to turn Protector Suite 2012 full version (starting from 5.9.8.7279) to free software. The WBF version works with any finger printer reader supporting Windows Biometric Framework in Windows 7 and 8. In my opinion, this is one of the best cosumer finger print software packages available on the market.

The common version works with UPEK sensors only when the common driver is installed.

Protector Suite 2012 can be downloaded at http://support.authentec.com/Downloads/ ... Suite.aspx.

Chrome and Firefox may require seperate plugins available at Browser Extensions tab on the above web page.

Cool thanks! Will try this out! I've been using the limited version for a while.

Have you actually tried it? The statement was valid for previous released. Just ignore this statement. They probably just did not bother removing it.

I have a license key, but after this version was installed, the software no longer shows the license key was installed and the software was registered to my name, no trace at all. I don't think current build actually requires a license to be fully functional, which was said in the release notes.

I can confirm that it works - I was only using the limited version before. I uninstalled that and installed the latest full version and it is working without any issues (it no longer says "Limited Version" on the splash screen either).

I did not have a license key.

Thanks for responding. I was wandering why no one mentioned anything about that.
