A friend that worked there once told me it was. I forget how though.

Future shop commission from sales tags
Is it possible to determine what the commission is on an item at fs from reading the sales tag?

Nope you can't tell from price tag. =P

HP ink cartridges gives about 15-45 cents in commissions. =PLast edited by darkprince; Sep 21st, 2008 at 09:57 AM.

They scrapped that awhile ago
They hardly make anything on the actual base product now, most of their commission is gained by selling warranty. No surprise why they aren't eager to PM anybody - as soon as they PM their commission virtually disappears. Not to mention most people who PM do not buy warranty.

> anyways just PM it against Best Buy and kill that commission.
LOL. Unless it's a substantial savings, not worth the bother for me. Besides, I don't care about the commission if the price I pay is the same. Why would anyone care?

All thing considered I'll take the product from a commissioned sales person.
HEY, if it's not costing me money I'm happy to put some money in a guys hand.

No, the commission is not a percentage rate.
All commission at FS are fixed and set in stone, so it may be $5 for a $200 camera or $10 for a $150 camera.
There is no way to tell unless you are the sales people.

y r ppl so bent over how much commission a person at fs gets? is it so that you have leverage when aruging for a discount? ("o i know you get $10 commission of my sale, so make it worth my while and drop $5 off")
If you don't like the service, walk right over to some competitor and hand over your money to them instead.

You mean $1-$2.
I've seen HDMI cable go on sale from NCIX/Compu2000 for less than $5 and the quality (Ion) is pretty much the same as Rocketfish. I doubt NCIX would be losing money on those sales...
Of course if you add BB/FS's big overhead for shipping products around and hiring warehouses of employees... it might go up to $3-$4...
