Looks like Future Shop has a Deal of the Day campaign where every week is a deal on Luggage, Housewares, Home & Lifestyle.
URL link:

This week (July 6th - 12th) is Camping Gear & Patio Furniture. I think every day there will be something different, so it's worth coming back to this page to find out what's worth buying here.
Today's deal (July 6th) is a tent for $99, regular $189. Add the item to cart in order to see discount price.

Best Buy in the states actually have been selling these apparently for a while and now theyre adopting the strategy for the Canadian market years later. Kinda like Walmart now has food. Worked well in the states, here it aint so hot.

Just when the real estate boom is ending, the hotshots at FS go furniture retailing. Smart boys all!

It only fails because the prices are not cheaper than the grocery stores. I don't get the concept either. If you're going to venture out into someone else's market, you better have something amazingly good or amazingly cheap if you want shoppers to make a special trip to your store. The convenient store within a big box store approach is doomed to fail because everyone knows that bread is more expensive at the corner store.
It's also next to impossible to re-program shopper's mentality once a store name has been associated with a market segment:
- Canadian Tire: Tools and auto parts.
- Future Shop/Best Buy: Stereo/TV/Cameras.
- Loblaws/Metro/Sobey's: Food groceries.
- Walmart*/Sears/The Bay: Clothing and general household items.
- Factory Direct/XS Cargo: Refurbed crap.
- Zellers: Empty shelves.
Walmart is pretty much the only store that can perhaps spread its wings in various market segments due to their buying power and low price approach. Anyone else is bound to fail.
