As far as best bang for the buck, nothing will ever beat a 2G Sansa Clip+ with a 32gb microSD card.

I have clip+ too and it's indeed a great value for the buck. However, it just couldn't delivery when it comes to sound quality.

Problem is its too big for working out and for home I prefer an N7 for a few bucks more.

Weird, my clip+ is one of the best sounding MP3 players I've owned. But it's really intended for a different purpose, with its tiny screen and whatnot.

Well, the dynamic of clip+ is just not doing it for me which is why I stick with Sony players for these past 3 years even though I don't particularly like their sound signature either.
Admittedly, I don't really give clip+ enough chance (rockbox it or etc). I much prefer the sound of 1st gen clip which has more neutral but lean sound signature. Too bad I had to return it due to its crappy build quality or firmware issue which I can't really remember.

My mom went to China and I gave her the Z to use as a music player and also now she can use email and Skype too. Not too shabby. My mom is also not tech savvy and she picked up on it quick.

Just picked up one at the Sony Store at the Pacific Centre Mall here in Vancouver. They seem to have several more. They also price matched it with the Future Shop price and have both red and black in stock.

Having used the Clip+ with and without Rockbox, I have to agree that it doesn't offer very good sound quality. The E438F Walkman sounds much better to my ears.

This thing is designed to be a MP3 players (unlike phones), it has better sound quality and the awesome walkman button combined with really hard to beat price. You wont find any phone ANYWHERE close to this price range that'll be as good as this. Nexus 4 is like $350, this is $120. Not to mention the Nexus 4 is sold out everywhere.

Dude, you are so wrong. In fact, the best thing to do, instead of buying this big ol POS or even phone is to buy a new car, like the Infiniti G. Has great sound, looks great, and even can be used to get you from place to place....in style. It's only a little more, but really, you get so much more than just an mp3/video player.
