and the progression towards $150 continues

and remember peeps, no memory card so put another 40 30 bucks (8gb) or more in the budget to actually boot the system and play vita games.

It's $30 for a 8gb card, not 40...

Personally I would rather get one of the starter kits that come with a 4gb card for the same price and wait for a better deal on a bigger card.

EDIT:

Hey I just noticed they have 15% off Vita accessories including memory cards and kits. Can't find mention of it anywhere except for the product pages but I just added one to cart and discount was applied. Not sure if other videogame accessories are included.

the kit is $29.99 at amazon.ca / FS ($28.99 if you PM at BB) gets you 4gb memory card, a screen protector, a slip on case, card holder and a pair of headphones. Make sure you get the official one, not the rocketfish one (no memory card in that package)

You memory card complainers are ridiculous. Even if you add a 32GB memory card at about $80, it brings the cost to $260 which is amazing when actually taking into consideration the quality of the hardware. It's cheaper than the lowest level iPod touch and much more powerful than the 3DS. PS+ subscribers will already have 5 games to play as well.

FYI for anyone that actually wants this deal, memory Cards are 20/30/60/99 for 4gb/8gb/16gb/32gb

If you're planning on buying cartridges only, 4gb is fine, but if you want to buy lots of digital purchases or take advantage of PS +, you'd probably need more (it's still possible to have an 8GB but you just need to manage your space a little more).

I agree and if there was a $179 bundle with game + 4gb card I would already be at the store. $150 for the bare or around $175 for a game + card bundle is my buy point

Yup, and actually they sell them for 29.99 at FS too now (too lazy to check BB), and as I mentioned about there's currently 15% off as well.

Didn't you say several times you would only buy one if it ever drops to $99 (you were quite insistent if I recall...)? :|

poor memory and that was another guy. I have always stated that 150/175 was my buy point for a bundle (I am not interested in a bare, memory-less vita), although I did agree with him that eventually the base vita will drop to 99 bucks. I'd just rather not wait until the vita's totally dead before playing my free ps plus games on it.

I will buy when it hits $150 with a 32GB memory card and Uncharted bundled together.

Hmm it's not as good as the Madden Bundle for $150 a few weeks and an official price drop is probably coming in the next couple of weeks which will drive down the price of the Vita on sale.

Not bad, it's a great device, got mine for $150 when the Madden bundle went on clearance...
