Futureshop refused to PM a sale price at NCIX

Because NCIX has a discount code listed next to their sale price, which is $30 cheaper than their regular price, Futureshop guy said they wouldn't PM. He said it counts as a coupon and FS won't honour coupons.
Is this in accordance with their policy?
Here are the 2 products:

NCIX:http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php? ... omoid=1020
269.99

FS:http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/prodde ... atid=25074
299.99

This was after trying to show me that NCIX wasn't an authorised Samsung distributor, which he couldn't figure out how to do.
He also wouldn't even consider looking at Direct Canada for a PM because he said they are liquidators.

Advice please? Thanks!!

Try a different FS. Ones downtown Toronto have never given me this BS when PMing NCIX.

Yonge/Eglinton is the only Toronto location with this item in stock.

If this shouldn't be a problem, then I'll go back to the same FS and talk to a manager about it. If this is valid that FS shouldn't be PMing this discount, then I just want to know, otherwise I'm up for a bit of a fight.

Yeah I'd be fine if FS added $5 to their PM.
My question is whether they SHOULD be able to PM a discounted price at NCIX.

oh well i don't know but like i always say:

when getting refused a PM at BB/FS, buy at their price and come back 1 hour later asking for refund.
Their next question will be: "is there anything wrong with it" to which you will tell you found elsewhere cheaper.
Trust me, they do not want to accept a return, yet alone something as delicate as LCD monitor which isn't as easy to sell Open Box as...say Memory Card or DVD player....etc

I work at FS and am sure you should get the PM with no problems. Sometimes salesreps are stupid and avoid legit PM's like this one. Like another guy said here, buy the product, pay and take it home. Go back the next day saying you will return it because NCIX has a lower price. They'd rather give you the difference back or take an open box item that WILL sell for less than the price of a new one.

How about you buy it from NCIX? They advertise a cheaper price, don't they deserve business?

Generally if you want to PM a store like NCIX, you should also prove they are an official retailer/distributor of the product. For Samsung, its somewhat hard because i don't know if they actually list this info on their site.

You could always buy it and just threaten to return it. Or do what i always do when i PM... ignore the Comp department and just take the product to the cashier. PM on the spot, they are generally a lot better than reps. Plus most reps know nothing about computer anyways. They just read the tag and tell you exactly what the tag says.

i would say yes - got my home PC setup (not incl monitor) from NCIX.
i would prefer to have a local store to deal with if anything goes wrong with the monitor and i prefer having the item right away instead of waiting for a shipment that i might miss if i'm not home
wish NCIX would open a toronto location! :)

This generally works REALLY well and it's my go to move also. However I've been getting burned lately, 3 different price matches and they keep calling computers and I get stuck in humm and haww we can't match this item hell. On Thurs I was in there for 40 mins to get a PM on a G5 mouse. The day before I had gotten declined on it and I was pissed so I went and found a cheaper ad on principle and walked about with a $38 sale instead of their sticker $97 lolol....was worth my time for the little personal victory.

According to ncix @ here http://www.ncix.com/go/?ncixawards

they have two awards from samsung entitled Samsung Platinum Partner & Samsung Gold System Dealer

I don't think samsung hands out these awards to ppl who arent authorized to sell them.

Fs should pm this, but they'll prob tack on shipping

OP, you realize if you're from Ontario you don't have to pay provincial sales tax.

That's a saving of around $22 right there.

So what's holding you up from ordering online at NCIX instead of driving to FS.
