Futureshop: Samsung Galaxy, get $100 gift card

I don't have a cell phone so know little about these things but HTC Desire and Samsung Galaxy are interesting me and wonder on what peoples thoughts are on the two and the providers (Telus and Bell).

Also, is there a con to getting the phone from Futureshop as opposed to Telus or Bell? Futureshop are offering a $100 gift card with the Samsung on new activations on 3 year contracts? Would that make it a better deal than the Desire in your opinion?
