Futuresop or Best Buy Employee Discount!!!

Hey everyone, I am planning on buying and Nikon D7000 and was wondering if there are any employees that can tell us how much discount they get with their employee discount. I heard from elsewhere it's (cost + 5%), what does that mean? Also, does the employee discount only work with regular priced items or is the (cost + 5%) with on sale items too? Is the (cost + 5%) true?

And for lenses, I assume you employees get 15% off?

THANKS SO MUCH!!

on EVERYTHING its Cost+5%. Doesn't matter if they're lenses or not... Cost is the cost of the product to the stores (not necessarily the company).

Oh, I see. So an employee would buy an product at the price Futureshop or Bestbuy purchased it at PLUS an extra 5% off?

Do you or anyone else happen to know how much and Nikon D7000 costs FS or BB to purchase? So I guess that doesn't matter whether the item is on sale of not...it's just cost + 5%?

Think if you were to buy an HDTV or PC with your employee discount, would your manager push the PSP warranty on you?

cost + 5% more

their cost isnt the cost of the item but cost + overhead, freight, other stuff.
For some items it is cheaper for employees to get it at retail

As far as I can remember, SLRs and lenses have a tiny markup at FS/BB. You may end up with a 2-5% discount, tops.

Someone above said the mark-up on DSLRs are 14-17%.....

Does anyone know what FS or BB cost to buy an 32gb SDHC class 6 or class 10?

Henrys gives a much smaller discount on the boies compared to everything else, I would think it is b/c the mark up s smaller.

If you know someone why not ask them, if your plan was to talk to an employee there to buy it for you for $50 or something they will probably assume you are a mystery shopper or something and not do it.
