does lazer mean that much? I can't see any lag with my MX500...so what exactly is it...the problem with my MX500 is it's getting real OLD now.....loss of colour and the stupid badge on it is discolouring...but the thing functions like a champ....should i upgrade for $50?
i'm gonna play A LOT OF battlefield 2 over the holidays though....so i was wondering if it's going to be a good investment...thanks....since i use the mouse EXCESSIVELY.....is it more comfortable than the mx500? thanks!
(and i read most of the review sites...and usually most of them over hype the stuff because they get these stuff from logitech for free, so i don't like to believe the hype.)

G5 is a great improvement compared to the MX500... having 2000dpi is just wonderful with its on the fly change as well..
i have the MX518 myself but have resisted the greatness of the G5 since the difference is very little...
and yes its soo worth 50$..

how much does it improve though...like....for me the mx500 feels like "real time accuracy"....so i dunno....is it more accurate and because it feels better....like more "real time"? i'm doing well in battlefield 2 with this mouse, but again, it's deteriorating
actually, could you explain the dpi thing..it makes the mouse cursor go faster right?

MX500
Technical Specifications
• Image Processing: 4.7 megapixels/sec
• Tracking Resolution: 800 dpi
• Max. Acceleration: 10g
• Max. Speed: 40 inches/sec
-vs-
G5
Technical Specifications
• Tracking Resolution: 2000/800/400 dpi (user selectable)
• Image Processing: 6.4 megapixels/second
• Max. Acceleration: 20g
• Max. Speed: 45—65 inches/second (depending on surface)
• USB Data Format: 16 bits/axis
• USB Report Rate: 500 reports/second
• Sleep Mode: Disabled
- adjustable weight cartridges, PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) gaming feet, on the fly dpi switch
DPI: Dots per inch; standard of measurement for the resolution of images. The higher the DPI, the higher the resolution.
the higher the resolution is a good thing when playing first person type shooter games where lightning fast response is a must, hving the option on the G5 to slow things down to 800 DPI is great if sniper accuracy is necessary.

Dec 16th, 2005 11:05 PM #7MX700 is the same as the MX500. Just wireless and rechargable and too heavy.

the G7 is nice... and its xtra battery pack and usb receiver is a sweet bonus.... the colour isnt bad either... its alot darker than what u c online.... its not light turqoise its dark... really dark...
id go with the G7 myself... but the cord on the G5 is really nice... no memory crap... the only downfall with the G5 id say is that it doenst support PS/2 and has really buggy software... its good if u have lots of USB slots empty but when its all full... it kinda sux since ull need to get a hub... -_- ...
