I agree with you OP the s3 uses a lot of battery juice. If you text a lot like me it KILLS the battery, especially when using whatsapp.

My WhatsApp Is on and idling, Not much battery use here. That's all I have that receives push notifications other then my Hotmail.

I'm actually Flashed my ROM to AOKP JB If anyone understands that.. Pretty sure the battery life on this ROM Is better then TouchWiz.

Turn off location services (not gps, android only powers the gps when it is being used) in android settings if you haven't already. That seems to kill my GN's battery faster than anything else.

um....galaxy s3 has its NFC build into the battery, so if you don't use NFC maybe its okie but i see future is going forward with NFC @.@...
