I've never heard of this before, and I got tons of disc-based media over the years. The only time I've noticed a "spilled water" effect was when I tried to remove scratches on one of my music CDs using an alcohol cloth. (yeah, I was young and stupid)

i had some fudged up rainbow colour puddle looking thing with my smallville season 4 dvd. i returned it to futureshop for an exchange.

I've never seen it with the DVDs I've bought before but just about every post I've seen from a person that did experience it also claim it's nothing to worry about. I'm crossing my fingers that's the case. I'd hate to spend another $20 on this just to finish the game. Originally Posted by basilmurphy

Not sure, but I do know that Blue Dragon has a Halo 3: Collector's Edition style issue where the nub isn't made well so the discs become loose...

probably the die on the disk wasn't poured evenly so it looks bad, but if the data was written on properly than it should play just fine. i see it on cheap dvd-r pretty often and it the were burnt slowly then read fine.
