Garbage from units above in apartments
I want to see if anyone has similar experience living in lower floors of apartment units, and please share how you dealt and stopped this problem.
I live on the ground floor with a small yard. Recently I have seen my share of garbage coming down from the sky especially during summer months - Yu Gi Oh cards (unfortunately garbage / lower end ones), poker cards, tissue, skewers, cigarette (still burning), plastic wraps, and toy cars. I have issued two complaints to the building manager and strata, but of course, there is nothing they can do as they do not know which floor(s) were doing this.
Other than invest in state-of-art surveillance over such small, but rather painful matter, is there another solution? Any advise is greatly appreciated.

If you burn down the building, nobody can throw anything down for at least a few years.

If you're really that bothered, look through the garbage for clues. If there's a letter then you're ready to rock and roll.

Wait until they are on their balcony, and then have a BBQ with whatever they had thrown down and smoke 'em out.
Or a flaming bag of dog **** at the front door.
Oh right...no fires.

been living in a condo for 3 years now...we get a reminder memo every 6 months or so about ppl littering...and landing on ppls extended balconies...
you'll have to live with it....it's the tenants (renters) that are the problem cause they dont care. Ppl that own usually don't cause the problems.
I think the only thing you can do is move._______________

Place notices on walls and elevators and cars in parking. As this is unacceptable and anyoen caught will be rersponsible for clean up fees.
Only issue i see is its common for cigarettes and most likely kids with yo-gi-o cards.
Or pick up trash and place in from of managers door each time till s/he gets upset enough todo something, worst is he calls cops on you and cops retract at him for not doing anything with your complains.

Personally i would let the kids stuff slide .... but for the grown up stuff coming off the deck I would do what i used to do when i had missionary's living above me ( what a nightmare that was ) .
Collect it all and return it to them .... in a pile in from of their door

I've been living in an apartment for 6 years now, and this has been a continuous problem. I live on the 2nd floor with a balcony, but every other floor above us does not. So they feel more than free to dump garbage out their windows and it ends up on my balcony...all 12 floors of window-garbage. I have complained to the management, but the situation didn't get better. i just never go out to my balcony now...
