Gas Station Container
I just got stopped from buying gas when I tried to put it in a container to mow the lawn. The employee said it was illegal to do so.
Is it illegal in Ontario to put gas in containers overall or is it a specific container?

You also have to have the proper jerry can container placed outside the vehicle when filling up.

At some stations like Petro Canada I believe there is a sticker on the pump that shows which containers are certified for storing gas.

CT sells a proper gas container for like $5.

Common sense people. Of course you can't just pump gas into any old container.

Not only that, you'll have the gasoline breaking down the container and end up contaminating the gasoline, so now you have several gallons worth of gasoline. Good for killing weeds of making a nice bonfire, but bad for powering anything.
I have several gallons of gas in the garage that have been in their container for years. No longer really valuable as gasoline, but a good firestarter. Even in the CSA approved containers, gas doesn't last._______________
