Gatineau, QC Internet - Acanac or Videotron?
I tried searching, but didn't find anything recent.
Anyways, I'm moving to Gatineau very soon, and realized I will have to start paying for internet. I want something where I can download high def content at a decent speed, and for a decent price. I also won't have a phone line as I'll only be using a cell phone.
Which ISPs are available and would be the best deal? Companies like TekSavvy charge an extra $9.10 for dry loop, which puts it out of my budget range.
Videotron has a special right now, $30.95 a month for 12 months for their high speed internet. Acanac, meanwhile, comes out to be about $32 a month after their dry loop band fee. They seem to be the cheapest, so out of the two, which would you recommend? Or a third, other option?

Monthly payment: $29.95 + tax = $31.45
No contract
They encourage their clients to share their connection:
Can I share my NCF DSL with neighbours? Yes, NCF encourages members to share their DSL with their neighbours.
You have to buy the modem
SpeedTouch 516 $73 Gateway with one ethernet port
SpeedTouch 585 $140 Gateway with four ethernet ports plus wireless
Speed 5 Mb/s down, 800 Kb/s up, max (depends on your line)
Bandwidth Includes up to 200GB per month (after that, $3/GB)

The only trouble is the extra $9.10 for dry loop band b, brings it close to $40

I agree, it didn't show the surcharge until I enter a number... Sorry for that.

No worries.
I wonder how Bell's new structure for payment for ADSL will change the rates?
