GC - Mario Party 5 vs Mario Party 6
Hi,
Need help! I purchased MP5 for my nephew for $70 at Toys R Us. I just saw MP6 at Loblaws for $60. What's better? Why is MP6 (more recent) cheaper than MP5? I know nothing about games. It was on his Xmas list.
Anybody? Thanks!

Because Mario Party 6 was just released. So stores usually have sales on these hot new titles to attract customers. This latest one comes with a microphone inside for free. Otherwise it's pretty much the same and equally fun.
Should be moved to Entertainment forum.

Thanks for the reply Felix. I needed an answer quickly and as there were 29 viewers on OT and 11 on Entertainment, I figured I would get the quickest response here. Gotta get shopping again!
Again Thanks!

Man! I just PM'd it at Toys R Us for $58 plus tax. Too much hassle to get it at FS for $50! Darn it!!

I got MP6 as part of the Blockbuster trade-in 4 for 1 deal. It's my first time playing a MP game and it's ridiculously fun to play. Definitely a keeper although if you have MP5, it may not be.
I notice that even MP4 is still selling for full price at EB. Are these games in really high demand?

Yes, after a while when they become discontinued they go for lots on eBay. For collectable reasons obviously. It was like that with the N64 Mario Party series also.

Here is a review. http://cube.ign.com/articles/571/571944p1.html
Haven't played 6, but 5 was a lot of fun. (I always pick Boo. My girlfriend calls him "Egg"
)
Seeming 6 is sped up a lot. I guess it has it's weaknesses too.
I've always enjoyed Mario Party around Christmas because it's something everyone can play.
I'm sure Donkey Konga would be good for partys too. (Jungle Beat also uses the Konga Control )
