For those of you that got charged $16.95, call in and tell them that their website said $4.95 and demand a price adjustment.

They ended up refunding me the $16.95 and gave me first month free for "the inconvenience they caused". I only asked for a price adjustment but I'll gladly take this.
I doubt you will get the rebate now. They might record the transaction as refunded.

I received the rebate already, and from my past experience, there is no reason for them to claw it back.

I still purchased the product as per their requirements, plus the product is still active.

I just contacted GCR about my rebate which hasn't shown up in 7 business days. TU has no record of it and it will take 55 days to fix the problem. This happens far too often with these offers to be legitimate issues, imo.

I got the same response too... I hope they don't cancel the rebate once I cancel my sub after a month... and it should be $27 not $12...

I put $27 dollar rebate not showing up in my message to them for that reason. Good luck!

Any reason not to cancel the subscription now? Or better off to wait till later? I figure either way if GCR is going to claw back the rebate, they have 55 days. Based on how it was written though they should not claw back, since it did not say anything about maintaining the subscription

Wow, talk about a difficult phone call I did not want to make.

Charged $16.95. Explained that I clicked a link that said $4.95 (asked if it was an e-mail, they are under the belief that these deals are through e-mail only, so by me saying "No" to e-mail, that was a "No Refund" path for them).
Said no refund.
Explained it's simply a mistake (on their part), lets get this corrected.
No Refund.
Okay, I've done nothing wrong, I clicked a $4.95 link.
No Refund.

I must have heard about 10 No's. I'm basically now yelling on the phone. Finally turns into "We will refund you $16.95 and cancel"

I said nothing about cancelling but hey, since you mentioned it, sure go right ahead. Unbelievable.

FYI, does not sound like a Canadian call centre, if anyone cares about that anymore (I do, I use to work at a Canadian Call Centre).

I was charged 19.95 instead of 4.95. Waiting on hold for 30 mins and arguing over the phone may not be worth the $12. YMMV

Cancelled it too but still no rebate...
Will the account be deleted after some time?
I don't plan on using it anytime soon...
