Sorry I can't respond directly , but we are looking at some GE Profile appliances. Which line is the more upper end line: Profile or Cafe?
We did look at a Cafe line stove, which we really loved (not your model) but I believe had to pick something else because it didn't come it black electric, if I remember correctly.
Also, where did you get our quote from?
Thanks.
EDIT: One more thing...I love the look of that fridge. We are also looking at a counter depth fridge, but we were considering either the GE Profile or a Kitchen Aid. I'm not sure why the GE Cafe didn't come up. What were you quoted on the fridge alone? Thanks again.

Cafe is a higher end line then the profile....profile then cafe then monogram.
The whole line only comes in stainless I believe.
That quote was from Caplans.
I also like the jennair FD fridge....maybe that with the Bluestar range from Costco if I can still find it.

I was quoted the range (gas+electric), fridge and a zephryn 6" hood for ~59xx+ tax. Not sure if I want to go this route.
Without the fridge, the price was ~$35xx + tax.
Price was from tasco.
Stove alone i was quoted for $2650+tax @ appliance canada.

GE Cafe
The Cafe series looks great cosmetically.
For the price of the dish washer I think there are better purchases for the money. Bosch Evolution and Ascenta series. KitchenAid Dishwashers are gaining a great reputation.
I am not a fan of the fridgess. If you compare the GE Cafe and the GE Profile, the higher priced Cafe doesn't really give you more. The cafe is over priced for the features. There are cheaper Profiles with newer features for much less money. Example; the Profiles have led lighting, similar water/ice dispense functions.
Another detail that I did not like was the 24.6 cu. ft counter depth Cafe was not enerstar. Very dissapointing from GE considering today's demands on higher value for the money to customers and you wouldn't get the PST rebate on it.
No despite all that, I really did like the fact the Cafe had stainless sides!
As for the ranges, I have the gas/gas range. There isn't anything out there that offers the same looks. If you bargain hard you can get the gas gas range for $2400. Out of all the Cafe line-up, the ranges are front liners I think. The ranges are the only items to offer features to justify the prices, everything else in my opinion is just dressed up Profile.
Hope that helps.

Have you called Quans for a quote? They seem to push GE heavily, perhaps they can give you a good price.

FYI...
For GE cafe, i wanted a gas/electric range, the price offered on the phone was $2680.
Post back if you can get a better deal. I am planning to go to Quan's tomorrow again (another location) to see if they can throw in a better deal.

Thanks for the great reply...it was the range that drew me into looking at this line in the first place...I think I am drawn to the Jenn-air fridge but have a lot more shopping to do. The stainless sides on the Cafe fridge is a nice feature.
Just wondering what you thought of the center burner? I read on gardenweb that it is very low btu's and not that functional. Also read the fan was loud and the knobs were plastic!!! Didn't notice that on first glance.
