I got a text from DHL to pay the waybill as custom clearance fee of $27.14 so I paid it... This was yesterday, today it says clearance delay in Ontario..
Thats odd, then delay might be for something else, because if you have a bill for custom clearance then your item has already passed custom clearance and DHL has already paid on your behalf.
Hopefully you get it soon.

I think they are saying this to not deliver on a Saturday, I'll see what happens on Monday.

That's pretty quick took less than a month. Did BG use Singapore Post? Any duty/custom tax?

Yes, I saw it today. Planning to buy two phones from geekbuying. Will customs be lower if I order and ship them separately or is it better to ship as one?

Anyone know what "drop shipping" is for?

Is HK DHL Express the best shipping option to choose?

And did anyone get the shipping insurance?
Definitely DO NOT ship them separately. I bought 2 A1s from GB and shipping was free with HK DHL. GB marked the total as $60 for the 2 A1s, but still had to pay $26 CAD in DHL fees. No insurance.

How do you get the price to $209.99 USD first?
It looks like the price went up $10. I bought it for $189.99. After HKDHL and conversion I paid $274 CAD.

Mine is finally making headway...people were right that once it updates with movement from Hong Kong it's pretty quick. Definitely will be here this week from the looks of things. 2.5 weeks is totally acceptable given how big 11.11 sale is.

I am letting go my Xiaomi Mi A1..I should receive these few days from DHL...price is around $300 or less...will provide receipt..meet downtown Toronto or NY/RH/Markham/Scar..pm me if interested..
bought the Huawei Mate 9...
After waiting through all that shipping you are just going to sell the phone after you receive it?

You should at least give it a chance, you might like the phone.

I was reading the very confusing Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 thread and I found out there was a new phone released called the Mi A1, it is similar to the Note 4 but runs stock android.

I think creating a new thread for it is worth it because there was so much cluttered information in the old one.

Some background info:

The A1 was released on September 5th and started shipping on the 12th. The launch price is $235.

Some store are selling it on Aliexpress and other Chinese resellers have it too, however Geekbuying has a promotion for it for $212. (So you are saving roughly 10% on a brand new released phone).

You have to get the coupon here: http://promotion.geekbuying.com/promoti ... d_mi_note3

Afterwards visit the store page here: https://www.geekbuying.com/item/Xiaomi- ... 85485.html

From what I read this is the Hong Kong version, which has the crucial band 4 needed for 4G here in Canada, so there is no need to worry if the phone will work once it arrives in Canada.

Warning: There seems to be some shipping problems for Chinese stores getting items in a timely manner to Canada, very long delays longer than 2 months sometimes. Paying extra for faster shipping might be worth it unless you want to wait that long (or if you are not in a hurry and don't care about the delay) for the phone to arrive.

More details about the shipping delays in the quote below at the end of the post:

I picked one of these up at Canada Computers this weekend for $309 plus tax and its impressive for a budget device. Using it on Bell and getting great reception.

There's a 32gig version now?

It has been there since day one, its just that the 4GB/64GB was better bang for the buck.

I don't think so, at least among the online retailers. There definitely was not a 32 GB option when I preordered through geekbuying, only 4/64GB.

I only noticed this 32 GB model in the last 2 weeks, since I was looking it up for a friend.
