You know what.. Apply for those jobs anyways. In the summer I landed a position that required 4+ yrs experience.. I only had about 6 months. Who knows.. anything can happen.![]()

General question about job postings...
A lot of jobs mention requirements of 1-2 years experience in certain areas as well as expert knowledge of certain facets..
Do job posters always put these things even though it's not necessarily required?

It really depends on the company....and the job.
For some companies, 1-2 years might be a requirement that they're unwilling to be flexible on, but for other companies, 'requirements' can sometimes end up being nice-to-have's.
Often times, companies won't be able to find someone who fulfills all of their requirements, so they have to go with the best option or the person who meets most of their requirements.
Just think about the job honestly, and if you think you're at least somewhat close to what they're looking for. Also, consider how popular of a job it is....in demand jobs attract a ton of resumes of people who are OVERqualified where you'll have little chance._______________

What you have to realize is a job description is not a list of minimum requirements but a best possible list.
Companines will love to get everything but once there's a candidate that's got potential, they won't turn him/her away. But if you have knowledge in a certain area they want, definitely mention it._______________
