Get more PM storage and other perks for paid forum membership?

I'd like to have more storage space in my inbox. Is there any way to get this? I was thinking maybe RFD should implement a paid subscription (something small) to get a slew of forum upgrades.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will see what can be done about your PM storage, are you able to delete some old messages to make more room in your inbox? At this time, we haven't talked about or have plans for a paid substitution or anything in that nature.

I just find my PM inbox to fill once a month or so. I have a lot of messages I like to keep because they contain info I forward to other people often. It just seems like a hassle delete what I don't need and find it filled up yet again. Plus many times I follow up on BST sales and it's a regular occurrence I find I have accidentally pruned pertinent messages.

I think giving the option for users to pay x amount to get forum upgrades would be cool, like longer signatures (another thing I'd love), more PM storage, maybe a slightly larger avatar, can bump threads 3 times a day instead of 2 in the BST, have more than 2 BST threads, etc. I'd be interested in such a service provided it was something like 15-25$/year. Maybe give them a cool title like "Subscribing Member" or something.

What about PMs being sent to a private email - so you could save them there and clean out your pm box.

Yes, but they also get to sell services in the BST and list their business' product for sale. I just want extra space and some of the benefits they get.

I find my inbox fills up pretty fast too - I usually just delete ishfish's PMs without reading them

also i like to forward my pm to my email, can we do something so when we reply to the pm from email it sends back the reply?

rather then having to log on rfd to reply.

I remember years ago RFD staff posted some kind of interest-check for a paid trader account with increased PM storage.

I think something like this would work:

- "Supporting Member" title under username, costs 5$/mo.
- signatures increased from 4 lines to 6 lines
- signatures increased from 400 characters to 500 characters
- avatars go from 100x100px to 150x150px
- can have three active BST threads at once
- can bump a BST thread 3 times a day
- PM storage increased from 250 to 500
- have access to a "supporting member only" hot deals subsection; only supporting members can view it and post
- can lock own threads instead of asking a mod to do it

It's 55$/mo. and you get 100 more PM storage, can charge taxes on BST sales, can sell items as a business (large quantity sales, etc).

Hm - so what you're proposing would actually be quite a value for what you get.

Slightly off-topic: why do you need to be a Sponsored Poster to charge HST? Or is this to set apart the "commercial" posters vs. the infrequent or one-off posters in BST?
