I'm chomping at the bit waiting for a new video card. This is the lowest price I've come across for a 7870 - free ground shipping too.

Whadda you guys think? I think everyone agrees the price will drop in the next month or two but by how much?

I would wait for the GTX680 prices to settle first, then see if AMD would adjust the 79XX prices, if 79XX prices fall, then 78XX would be adjust as well.

Also, this Powercolor Radeon 7870 is $333.90, seems to run at the same base clock speed and slightly higher memory clock speed. http://www.anandtech.com/show/5706/amd- ... unch-recap

Nice! I'm happy with a single monitor at 1900 x 1200 so the 7950 might be overkill for my needs.

Will wait a little longer to see if the 7870 gets a little closer to $300.

7950 for $375 is actually very hot I would say for the performance, plus the overclocking potential.

7870 for $346 is meh price/performance in my opinion (but it is a brand new card so hard to expect aggressive pricing, especially when it is only competing against the 6970/570 maybe 580).

Cheers
