I've seen so many positive posts about Gibby's B stock but was never looking to upgrade my 7.1 amp..
I bought this one about a month ago and have been over the moon happy with it.
If I had known what an upgrade Atmos/DTS X would be over regular 7.1, I probably would have spent a lot more money earlier to upgrade! As it went, I held off as I didn't think the cost was worth it for what I thought might just be a bit of a gimmick.
At this price, and for the cost of a couple of second hand Paradigm monitor 3s from Kijiji, I had to bite.
The calibration routine was idiot proof. My HT has never sounded better. I'm going through all my catalogue and enjoying many titles with the upgraded sound in 7.1.2..

I don't think there is a big difference, but I purchased an NR777 for $449 from London Drugs about 2 months ago.
Did you use the mic to calibrate?

I purchased the NR777 from Amazon a little under $400 a few months back too, and love it. Returned the Yamaha I initially purchased. Keep my audio set to Direct all the time.

I used the supplied mic to calibrate with the accueq advanced setup procedure..I think the advanced upgrade on the 787 has to do with standing waves.
I've always setup my amp's using an spl meter and a test disc but I have to admit the sound I'm getting now even from my existing speakers is better than I could calibrate on my own in the past.
I find the DSU does a better job at up sampling non object based soundtracks than DTS neural X does but both DTS X and Atmos are amazing with tracks native to each..

Great find OP! I purchased a Denon AVR-X2300W B-Stock from Gibbys last year and couldn't be happier. Now I have to figure out if it's worth the upgrade to this model or not.....Face With Stuck-out Tongue And Tightly-closed Eyes

^ for me it's worth the upgrade. i had my x3400h which i exchanged with nr787.
the rz730 at bb is 699 and if 50off 500+ applies to this, its worth the extra bucks and its new. Winking Face

My wallet was not a fan of this comment! Just picked up the RZ730 Neutral Face.

Thanks for your input!

Does the setup procedure for the 737 ask for two additional mic readings as well as the primary listening position?
If not, then I believe this to be a major factor in the upgrade decision. This ADVANCED feature in the accueq setup really has brought out the best in my old Paradigm P1000 sub. This was an unexpected surprise in this upgrade.
