I've eaten there before, It's not the cleanest place and actually looks run down but the food is decent and the portions are pretty big and prices are reasonable. I love their grilled viet sandwiches!

I just went there today and ordered the Curry chicken and grilled beef w/white jasmine rice.
It was very good and very close to home. Too much meat though and not enough greens. thats the only thing that didn't resemble home cooked Viet food.
I was looking up at the pictured menus and the stuff looks very good. I want to try the fried red snapper over white rice too, it looks good.
grilled sandwiches??? are we speaking of the same place here?

Yep there is one at Yonge and Gerrard, which is call Ginger 2, a better place imo with better tasting food (less busy as well, at Ginger you can't find a seat sometimes).

But the Ginger near Yonge and Bloor offers stuff more closer to home to me. I know its busier but, i just order my stuff and leave to eat elsewhere. I pick up a few lime slices at the counter to put over my curry chicken cuz i like it that way. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yeah.
I've been looking for Vietnamese curry oxtail for so long in different restaurants and can't find it! My mom doesn't cook that anymore cuz she's scared of mad cow disease lol. she has every right to be i guess, but man she made a mean dish outta that lol.
Ginger offers okra stew too i think?? or do they just do the real stuff on occasion and whenever they feel?
The one on Yonge and Bloor doesn't have those grilled sandwiches i think? i think they focus more on main course meals????

It does! I just had it a couple of weeks ago. I don't remember what the name is but they go for about 2.75. Just ask for the viet sandwiches or grilled viet sandwiches. I've had the chicken and beef, don't remember what other sandwiches they had.

They might have pork. But i'm trying to cut down on pork/beef myself.
Btw, you ever tried any of their steamed or fried fish with rice??? I think they either serve snapper or king fish.

Ginger near Bloor definitely has grilled subs - very yummmy! Also really good seafood soup, mango fruit salad and shakes.
Oh, yeah, by the time you order, pay and pu your condiments, food's at your table...no waiting.
Imo, Ginger1 (Bloor) has better food and prices are better, too.
