'The Girl in the Spider's Web' Lisbeth Salander leapfrog sequel

A few months back it was revealed Sony decided to revive the film adaptations of Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy of novels featuring heroine Lisbeth Sanders by leap frogging two thirds of the trilogy proper and skipping ahead to the fourth book not actually written by Larsson who passed away after the third book.

Sony also ignored a Dan Brown novel when it chose to adapt 'Inferno' over 'The Lost Symbol'

Today Variety reports Claire Foy from 'The Crown' is the leading candidate for the new Lisbeth Salander
Fincher's long gone too

I hope she is as good as Noomi and Rooney. Not a good sign that her name doesn't rhyme! :D

I guess Lisbeth toned down the goth as she matured

The trailer makes it look like a spy/action flick rather than a part of the Millennium series. Granted, I've only read/seen the first three novels and films, but this latest one seems out of place. More like Jason Bourne than Lisbeth Salander.

Yeah, Jason Bourne was exactly my thoughts, with the teaser, and now this. I am interested in which Xperia phone she is using now, though :) .
