GM DAT's Mini Car Concepts
Designed by Daewoo, to be unveiled at New York Autoshow this week.
The public can vote for which concept is most appealing by visiting http://www.vote4chevrolet.com/. While there's no guarantee the highest vote getter will be built, it will help guide the development of a future global mini car from GM.

Chevrolet Beat : Designed to evoke the mood of a speedy micro import tuner, the Beat is a front-wheel-drive, three-door hatchback concept built to be personalized, and powered by a 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine mated to an automatic transmission. It’s loaded with technology, including a navigation system and premium stereo.

Chevrolet Groove: A “funkastalgia”-themed vehicle too tough-looking to be “cute,” the Groove concept is a retro-inspired vehicle with bodacious fender flares and an upright windshield. It looks much longer than it is, thanks to its short hood and long cabin. The front-drive Groove is powered by a small, efficient 1-liter diesel engine.

Chevrolet Trax: An urban crossover concept that’s equally at home on the trails or in traffic, it gets a low-cost all-wheel-drive system and looks the part of a rugged SUV many times its size, thanks to a voluminous one-piece bumper and fender system in the front and back, a rear-mounted spare tire and a roof rack. Trax is powered by a 1-liter gas engine.

Is it just me?
The Beat looks like the Yaris and Groove look like the Uplander.
I voted for the Yaris tho. Edited: I mean Beat.

Now if Chevrolet had a version of the "Beat" that was about 900cc with turbo and without the nav system and just a normal CD/radio, that would bring down the price and get better gas mileage too.
All you need for a really small car like this is about 80 hp.

The Groove kinda of looks like a HHR.
The Beat seems to be a combination of the Matiz (I assume the platform these concepts were built on) and the WTCC Ultra concept
Matiz

WTCC Ultra

Beat

If they keep the Beat the way it is. GM could sell some of those puppies.

I guess there's no accounting for taste. The backend of the Groove looks like @$$. I prefer the Beat (hate the name though) and actually don't mind the Trax. But I fail to see how the current results of this poll indicates why NA fails at cars. Besides these aren't even North American cars. They have been designed by GM Daewoo in Korea, and therefore I would assume by Koreans. I would say one of the reasons NA fails at cars is because they can't design cars like this.

the Beat looks too Echo-esque.. I feel like crushing it with my foot and playing hockey with it. Still, of the three, it has my vote..

I actually like the look of all three for what they are. The Bowtie is a little out of proportion on the Beat, but it still got my vote.
I somehow doubt that bigass subwoofer is going to be standard on the Beat.

WTCC Ultra looks amazing. Sure looks the best out of all the sub compact cars out in the market.

Agreed. I would be happy to drive the Ultra. (This is coming from a lifelong Honda driver.)
Although, it has an exaggerated muscular appearance, everything is in proportion. I love it!
The fender flares, taut lines, chin spoiler and oversized wheels really make it a dramatic looking car.
The WTCC Ultra debuted at the Paris Auto Show. For more info. and to see some great pictures, cut check out this link:

I hope GM has the foresight to not only bring this concept to reality, but to also ensure that it sees North American soil.
