Short of any crazy Black Friday deals, $299 seems to be very close to or is the historical low for 8TB Red (5400 rpm). Here - https://www.canadacomputers.com/product ... _id=123022

Who is going to get one?
Amazon is cheaper with 8% cashback. https://www.amazon.ca/Western-Digital-B ... B07D3MWMNZ
319.99 * 1.13 - 25.60 = 335.99
vs
299 * 1.13 = 337.87

Plus I would prefer to buy from Amazon.

If you prefer a retailer or ease of purchase then fine. Plus not everyone will have or know how to use eBates. It's $1.88 difference so the price is not a determining factor.

And sometimes in life, it's also nice to buy from a local small business and support the community that we live in. Wait till you grow up and you are lucky enough to start and run your own small business lol.

Those pro versions are like twice the price. I would have jumped on that 8TB offer but I don't like 5400RPM.
Nothing to see here...keep looking.

Many people think 5400 is slow. This is true but in today's scenarios, you would run SSD's for anything OS related and just get a stable drive for storage. Check benchmarks of the REDs 5400s. With SSDs getting larger in size and coming down in price, a RED 5400 drive can sustain an average of 100+ MB/s. That is plenty fast?
