Had few problems recently with my Xperia with the new ICS update...have a chance of getting kinda brand new SII for 200$
So,I could sell my Xperia for ~100-150$ for a cheap upgrade...should I do it?

Yes, you should do that. The U is obsolete, no JB

where are you getting the s2? i know best buy is selling it for 49.99 with a 150 supertab from virgin and giving 100$ gift card plus if you get a friend to refer you from thier rewards program or you make 2 up - one for you and one from maybe your mother or something you can grab another 25$x2 or 25$ for you and 25$ for your friend.
I'm doing this but going for the sIIx since it has a faster cpu (1.5 dual core) and jb by end of year as well. instead of virgin it is Koodo and 79.99 with 150 tab so 25$ more for faster phone and slightly larger screen. But some prefer one phone over others and if it was any higher than 25 bucks more i would probably go with the s2 also._______________

Just as an FYI, the i9100 (Virgin) model is actually quicker than the T989 variant (Koodo). The Exynos + Mali chipset is vastly superior to the Qualcomm + Adreno 220 in the T989. The Mali 400 from the i9100 was actually carried over to the i9300 (Galaxy S3 International) and it still remained one of the fastest Android GPUs available (up until the LG Optimus G/Nexus 4 came along...).
You can get Jellybean via Odin for the i9100 as well, I have one of the CM10 nightlies running on my old i9100 still and it works just as smoothly as my Galaxy S3.

However, an adreno GPU toting galaxy S2 is just as fast as the Mali toting galaxy S2, because there are no mali specific games out there anyway.
It is funny to see the snapdragon S2s faster than snapdragon HTCs with same chip. S2X is a fair choice. However, i would spend a bit and get the S3 anyway. 28nm power efficient chip, vastly improved battery life, and able to be running ICS/JB very smoothly are major pluses._______________

Finally, friend kept his phone so I'm looking for ones on eBay\BST...and I've seen few variants. And one of them is the Epic 4G and uses the CDMA2000 1xEV-DO network...and I guess this won't work with Fido as they are using GSM networks?

SII camera is simply incredible. It looks like nothing, but it takes better photos than I4s for SOME reason. my friend blew me away.
PPI is lower cuz its a BIG phone. but fast with the dual core. If you like Xperia, Acro S is nice.
get a replacement battery to last all day._______________
Always interested in a good trade!
