I - and many other RFDers - have been happy with davesnetwork.ca. If you search the forums here you'll see lots of positive comments.

If you are at all serious about your web site you will find out as I did that you get what you pay for.

I would run from any shared hosting that offers an unlimited plan. Nothing but heartache, especially if you are doing it for someone's business.

You'll also find that with shared plans you are constantly asking the host to do things for you on the server side, as opposed to a VPS where there is more to set up and you need to get the software running, but once done you can do everything yourself.

I ended up licensing a copy of cpanel for $15 bucks a month and paying for a $32 VPS a month. This from where I started with a $3 a month host. You couldn't put a price on the anguish. This goes double if you are going to try and get good SERPs.
