Old Toyota Corolla/Camry, Honda Civic/Accord. Nice, reliable cars.
For $4-5k you can get one with roughly 150 - 180k kms on the odometer. If you opt for a 5-speed, you could probably find one with lower mileage than the Auto ones.
There is also the Honda Prelude, Acura RSX, or Toyota Celica GT for around $5000- mileage roughly around the 180 - 200k kms mark, although you'd have to look a little bit harder.Last edited by forthewinwin; Aug 3rd, 2012 at 06:56 PM.

I'd say something like a 2003-2004 Honda Civic with around 150000kms or so.
Toyota is another good brand, even the older Camry's are SUBURB._______________

Civic or Camry
Double check with insurance!!! My parents don't have perfect driving records but their Gen 4 Camry has higher premiums (just liability) over the Hyundai (full coverage) by ~$500.
The Camry is a XLE V6, awesome high mileage (650 km+) mostly highway.
