I wouldn't tell you to expect 217mhz out of it, as with overclocking, YMMV.
that said, for 130, that is a great price for 2GB of memory.

i think the prices are US. and with shipping + duties might kill it.

With only a modest amount of digging - $130 is a bangin price.
My only problem is, I've no problem spending a bit more money if it means better peformance out of my machine.
with this ram, I'll be able to run tight timings at low mhz. I guess I'd have to play with dividers to get the opteron up to 2.9ghz.
or..
would it be better to get faster ram... looser timings.
------------
I rarely game.. but do spend much time Rar, Par, and moving files.
thoughts anyone?

Sorry, that might have looked a bit confusing.
I'm picking up this ram second hand for $115 US on my upcoming trip to San Francisco. So, approx. $130 CAD.

Just get those modules. The faster the CPU, the better it is. Athlon64 isn't really starved for bandwidth so it's not a huge deal. All memory is on a divider with Athlon64, no matter what people will tell you. There is no 1:1 with Athlon64.

Yeah - just read a great guide on DFI street.
I know understand dividers, and HTT.
200mhz is fine (tight timings is great!!)
can run my proc at 2.9ghz with 200mhz ram at tight timings.
Nother question...
What applications or instances is memory bandwidth seen or used? Ie.. higher fsb as opposed to tighter timings.
