Good Deal on Ram for a 13" Mid 2010 MacBook Pro?

Hey guys I'm looking to upgrade the ram on my 13" Mid 2010 Macbook Pro and was wondering if you have any suggestions.

According to Apple I require:
- Double Data Rate Small Outline Dual Inline Memory Module (DDR3) format
-30mm (1.18 inch)
- 2 GB or 4 GB
- 204-pin
- PC3-8500 DDR3 1066 MHz type RAM

I found this at NCIX:http://www.ncix.com/detail/corsair-appl ... 4-1242.htm

But was wondering if there was anything cheaper, especially with Black Friday around the corner...

can you post your processor details (model ex. core i5 3200). The more detail the better. Even the motherboard has its limits. With more info, I or others can give you better advice.

Too much ram or ram that is too fast may run at slower speeds depending if it is supported, that would be wasting your money.

I need to know the model. Is it a Intel core 2 duo P8600?
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Core ... 026.0.html

If so keep readinng:
http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/m ... specs.html

it supports up to 16gb @ 1066mhz

The ram that you have posted is the same one. You do need to double check. Either open up your laptop or download a software to do it.
How much ram do you currently have? All sticks need to be the same in even numbers. That means you either have 2 x 2gb or 4x 2gb or 2x 4gb. you cannot 1x2gb + 1X4gb. It will run slower.

yes it is 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo (P8600)

However its for the 13" Macbook Pro. Does that article still apply to my laptop?

Nevermind I found the correct link http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/m ... specs.html

I will mainly use the laptop for garage band, recording, and maybe some video editing down the road. As for games, I will probably only play rocksmith.

With that said, does anyone have any suggestions as to what type of ram I should purchase? for instance do have to get 1066mhz or could i use 1333mhz or 1600mhz?

Further, where I can find the best deal?

It seems like Memory Express has a pretty decent sale going on, but then I have to also pay shipping...

Note: I'm only looking to spend about $100

Supports 1066 MHz PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM. Your first post is correct. How much ram do you currently have. if 2gb x1 or 2gb x 2, then the link you have in your first post is what you want to buy (absolute fastest for your laptop). However, if you already have one stick of 4 gb ram, Then the link you have in the first post is a ***** buy since you only have 2 slots.

In the case where you do already have 4gb x 1 ram, but the EXACT same ram that you already have. (exact means 100% identical).

Ye I have 2 x 2GB sticks. Unfortunately I missed out on Amazon.ca's deal yesterday for 2 x 4GB sticks for $63.99

Based on the aforementioned conclusions, would this RAM work on my laptop? Would I have to do anything to make it work?

http://www.amazon.ca/Crucial-PC3-12800- ... B008LTBJFW

Its a bit excessive for my needs but there doesn't seem to be any decent deals on 8GB so i may just bite the bullet and purchase this.

Edit: Nevermind, I've already pulled the trigger!
