Is this a good hard drive deal?

At futureshop, they're selling the Western Digital 120GB hard drive for $99 after rebate. Not really sure if I should pick it up now or wait a bit longer. What do you guys think?

Have to agree with Armourek. Large mailin's are a pain, may as well get something better for a bit more money.
Rock it.

Amourek wrote:You can get a regular OEM 120GB hard drive for around $110 from most computer stores. Warranty is longer, and you don't have to wait for no stinkin' rebates.
The warranty is the same whether I get it from a computer store or not. I don't really mind waiting for the rebate and I did get my last one after waiting almost 2 months. Just want to know if I should wait a bit longer and possibly better hard drive deals will pop up?

As I understand it RETAIL hard drives like the ones sold at FS, Staples, ETC. only have one year warranty. An OEM Western Digital or Maxtor over 120GB has 3 years warranty, and an OEM Seagate has 5 years warranty.

The deal's alright, but not that great. You can probably find it around ~$10 without any rebates.

Far as I know, all major brand HD's except the largest Western Digital (160+ GB) hard drives have 1 year, with the large WD's carrying a 3 year. Samsung apparently has a 5-year warranty across the board...
