Good price on a 09 Mitsubishi Eclipse GTP?
I am looking to buy a 09 Mitsubishi Eclipse (manual), 36 months 0% finance. Total comes to ~$37800 otr. How much should I negoitate down to for this to be considered a good deal? What is this tire safety and security programs they are selling? They are $300 and $500 for 36 months and included into the otr price, but they sound pretty useless to me. Do Mitsubishi make good cars in general?
Thanks.

Because it fits within my budget and has almost everything that I want without killing in insurance. My other choices are the SI and the RX-8. SI's horse power is too low and the insurance is much higher than the Eclipse. RX-8 is a mazda and it's more expensive...so no thanks.

Had two mitsubishi's. Both ran over 270,000 MILES and would have kept going if not the need for an updated vehicle. Cheap to maintain and doesn't break down often.

$3000 to $4000 nego- is easy~~
If they have stock, they would sell it with even less price, 'cause it is not hot selling car at all and Mitsu is not actively selling their cars right now.... more than -55% sale(http://www.reuters.com/article/marke...50279320090401).
I would buy Genesis coupe 3.8 with that price.
Eclipse's 3.8 liter engine is much like gas guzzling, unlikely Genesis coupe's.....
Genesis coupe's 3.8 is more efficient with great fun factor, 'rear-wheel drive'.
Also, Eclipse's resale value is somewhat low....
Why don't you try to test drive Genesis coupe?

The only downside with the Genesis coupe is winter driving. I've been reading about it on various genesis coupe forums the car is pretty bad in the snow (mainly cos of its huge curb weight). Also, with front wheel drive, you can get away with running all seasons. RWD you'll have to get winters which is another added expense.

How about the Lancer Ralliart? Only downside is that it only comes in an automatic transmission although some argue it's auto-manual.
As for reliability, I had an Eagle Talon that went 300,000 kms before it died. That's the closest car I've ever had to a Mitsubishi.
