Is it a good time to buy Odyssey now?
Dear all, I am planning to buy a new 2012 Odyssey EX (or EX-RES) to replace my beaten Caravan. Honda has $2000 cash discount and an extra 500 dollars from Aug 3 to Aug 11. Seems that the year end clearout starts... I may be able to have an OTD price around $35500. Is it a good price or I should wait till the last second? If you have a similar experience to share, many thanks!

Production for 2012 has stopped. While you may get a little more off in terms of price by waiting, selection will become much more limited. I heard for example EX-RES is extremely difficult to find now. $35500 including the $2000 + $500 rebate is still a decent price (which translates to $29776 before tax and PDI, or $32276 excluding rebate, PDI, or tax). EX-RES has an invoice of $32743. I think EX invoice is $1000 to $1500 lower than EX-RES. So, at best, you'll probably squeeze a bit more out of it, but probably not much more.
Good luck in your hunt.

Thanks a lot for the fast reply. The price for EX is now 35250 OTD. The price is for the EX model and EX-RES model will be around 1500 dollars more.
Is that EX model less popular than EX-RES? I made the comparison between these two trims and seems that major difference is the DVD entertainment system.
Thanks!
