Good Webhosts
I currently have 2 dreamhost accounts and was going to get a netfirms, but i have neither will supply me with what i need
dreamhost (uses mysql 5.0) not good for my script
netfirms loads scripts too slow, and their db is horribly slow as well
i was looking for a good webhost, not looking for a deal like those two above, but something reliable and at a fair price. i was wondering if anyone knew of any or have used any.
thanks in advance

I've been using Network Eleven for a couple of years. I haven't had any problems with them. Admittedly though, I've never had to use their support, so I cannot comment on that.

Apr 6th, 2006 09:41 AM #6I have to disagree. I've been very happy with their service (although I've only been with them for 1.5 years). However, they do use mysql 5 for their linux hosting, so if that's an issue, then yes, stay away.

1and1 has an extortion based cancellation process, you need to fax them a bunch of crap to cancel your account and even then they won’t do it half the time. They continue charging your credit card without your permission and when you block them they send a collection agency notice to you, anyways just trust me stay away. The service is cheap and not that bad but the way they conduct business and how they keep their customers is nearly illegal.

Apr 6th, 2006 09:47 AM #8Service isn’t the problem, cancellation is extremely difficult they also renew everything automatically with out your permission and with out contacting you first.

Interesting. I just read the FAQ, and tried the first few steps of the process, and it claims you just need to reply to a confirmation email sent to you after submitting your cancellation.
Not that I have any plans of cancelling soon, but that does indeed look ominous. I will be sure to have VISA waiting to cut them off before I cancel

Apr 6th, 2006 10:23 AM #11As far as I'm concerned, nothing. But the original poster said:
