Anything T999/d2tmo is fine, except for official firmware and modem files.

I can try and help you solve the issue.
Awesome. Thanks for helping.

Started with unlocked and rooted S3 android 4.4.2 on Koodo. Tried to install CM11 using OP link "http://www.cyanogenmod.org/" -> "http://beta.download.cyanogenmod.org/install".

What custom ROM did you flash?
I used the Cyanogenmod Installer through OP link. It choose the ROM for me automatically.

I've been experiencing this headache on 4 try's now with the CM11 installer on my T999V S3 with Wind. I run the installer, it says successful, but when I reboot, I'm back with Stock Touchwiz instead of CM11. I couldn't find an answer on XDA or Cyanogemod forums so I just gave up.

Is your phone an i747m? Are you running a 4.3 bootloader on your phone? If you're not sure, what baseband is on your phone?

The easiest way to install a custom ROM would be to install a custom recovery and flash a custom ROM from the external SD card.

This is *Exactly* what I am experiencing.

Thanks. I have Clockwork Recovery v6.0.4.7. Where to find the correct custom ROM?

EDIT:
This looks like correct CM11 rom for telus i747m. Anyone tried flashing this on 4.4.2?

Note: d2lte is unified build and d2att is deprecated in favor of unified build

If you have a custom recovery, download the correct ROM file from cm. And copy it to root folder of your sdcard. ALSO download gapps for KitKat (if you are going to install cm11).

Boot into custom recovery, then first install zip for cm11 and then install gapps.

Lastly do a factory reset from custom recovery and reboot.

I don't think that would be the problem. Since you have CWM installed, don't use the CM installer. Instead, just download the correct d2lte ROM and flash it in recovery.

Using custom recovery worked like a charm. CM11 and gapps installation only took a few minutes.

I think Moto G interface spoiled me and I may try to install Android 4.4 KitKat Theme from playstore.

Thanks again guys and OP.

Try carbon or validus for a stock look.
