Google ads in middle of RFD forum page.. how long has that been going on?
I'm a regular Firefox user, but I downloaded Opera (browser) this morning just to see what it had to offer, and after a couple of crashes on RFD in Firefox within a few minutes of each other, I thought I'd give RFD a whirl in Opera.
First thing I noticed - there's Google ads running the width of my screen part way through forum threads! I don't recall ever seeing that on Internet Explorer last time i used it (a long time ago), and I've certainly never seen them in Firefox. I don't use Adblock in Firefox, so that's nothing to do with this..
Couple o questions:
1) are the ads meant to appear in part-way down the page in the middle of forum posts?
2) if so, since when?
3) ..also if so, how come Firefox doesn't display them that way -- and perhaps either way, this has something to do with the Firefox/RFD crashing-issue?
Btw, ads inbetween posts SUCKS..

Yeah, you get a couple more google ads if you don't register. That's why everyone should register.

True about being less invasive, but in reality the google ads generate an income for the server administrator, and less invasive equals less viewers seeing it, and as a result less clicks. Leo Laporte from 'Call for Help' placed his google ads on top of his webpage and the results were 400% more hits. With high amounts of trafic this equals higher probability of a viewer seeing it and clicking it (what is it now 25 cents a click?).
On the bottom of the page looks the most ideal for the layout of the webpage, but if your interested in maximum revenue maybe the top of the page or just under the menu bar (right above the main advertisement) would seem an OK location._______________Resident vehicle detailing enthusiast - PM for detailing related questions
