I have been seeing a real mixed bag of reviews on these.... I wonder if the -50$ helps alleviate some of those poor reviews or if other Bluetooth headphones for a similar price are better

Would 100% recommend the Airpods over the Pixel Buds, even if you use an Android.

Currently have both and the airpods are a lot more refined than the pixel buds in all ways, the pixel buds feel more like a beta product than a finished product. (Floppy connection, fit isn't great, loop gets loose etc..)

Happy to answer any questions about the Pixel Buds but would not recommend it to anyone, chances are they're coming out with a better version in a month or two.

That is sad, I really like the Google Assistant integration in the headphones... Attempting to find something close to it from other vendors is not easy for the same price point

how's the real time translation working on the pixel buds?
A gimmick. Its powered by the Google Translate so you can still do real time translation without the buds through the Google Translate.

Waiting for the next gen will probably be your best bet. Would not recommend spending $150 on these, it brings more frustrations than convenience.
