My google play account is offering $1.49 instead of the $0.99 offer and can confirm it only applies to SD/HD. The old offer worked on UHD rentals which sucks that they removed that.

Edit: @boldventure Navigate to movies and tv in google play and you should see a banner ad for a rental deal

yep, following your instructions it shows for me, 99 cents, thanks OP and Blackstaffer, i have about $30 in credits from Chromecasts, though i assume this only works for the one movie.

Thanks. I've got it for $0.99. Not sure if I'll use it. Very disappointed last time I streamed a rental from them.

No banner ad for rental, only tv episode for .99
