Is this the same digital version included with the boxset? https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B075Z6 ... UTF8&psc=1

I've seen that go on sale for 100-110, should be considered if you want the 4k Blu-rays in addition.
Literally just bought that yesterday. I saw that the set was on a one day sale Dec 26 for less than 110$, but I didn’t want to risk the price going up more since bestbuy has it for 189$.

I have an older BLURAY set, and the first film always looked like a bad transfer, but watching the first film in 4K hdr is great. Totally worth it.

Reading some online reviews, the original 35mm film was scanned in at 2k (supposedly) for archives and that’s what was used here.

Not bad. Itunes has the collection for $79.99.

Don't forget discounted coupons can usually be found for Itunes and Google Play to further sweeten the deal.
What discount coupons do you mean?

In my experience, 60 to 80Mbps. Pretty close to UHD Bluray.
That's pretty ok, so the only downer is the crappy dolby 5.1 audio.

I bought this set too.
One thing that helped my decision was apple and then Google upgrading HD digital movies to 4k if available which these are.
I had some digital movies from sales or Pringles deal that we watched regularly and found digital convenient as can watch almost anywhere or any device.

It seems a bit unfair to pay full price as tech changes. I have paid for the same movies on VHS, dvd and digital. Same with music first vinyl, cd and then ripped best ones to mp3. Seems like there should be an upgrade price.
Sure glad both apple and then Google are doing free upgrade if it's available. Still have plasma tv but ready WITH 4k when switch to OLED.

I bought the USA version 4K UHD blu-ray + blu-ray + digital combo off amazon.com

The digital code in that set is a USA movies anywhere version. You would have to set up a USA movies anywhere account using a VPN.
Then you can link it to an iTunes USA account. It will be viewable on both.

The Canadian bilingual version usually comes with different codes than the USA version.
Sometimes codes in the USA versions work with iTunes Canada. (All the digital codes in the Mission Impossible movies in 4KUHD + blu-ray+ digital combos work on iTunes Canada).

Err I meant gift cards. You can regularly get Itunes gift cards for 10% or more off face value. Same goes for the Google Play store.

Turns out not all movies will be in 4K. I bought Fast & Furious: The Ultimate Ride Collection, and it's only in HD (1080p), not 4K.

When buying, make sure the listing says Buy 4K. Image

If it says Buy HD, then you only get the 1080p version. Image

You might be covered when 4K ver is available there: https://www.blog.google/products/google ... movies-tv/

I don’t know for sure but the post sure sounds like it.

Another option if you have a 4k player:

Wait for Amazon to bring it back down to $109-$99.
Sell Blu Rays
Keep digital codes

Nope... the movies are already available in 4K. I bought the 1080p (HD) version instead. Fortunately, I got Google to refund me.
interesting... all but two have only either SD or 4K when you try to purchase individually. Fast & Furious and Fast 5 do not have 4K but HD. Good that they refunded you.

Any one know if my LG 65B7 can play the movies bought in play store in 4k? I think I watched Mission impossible using google play store app in LG webOS, but I have no idea whether it is played back in 4k or not.

I would be interested in the fast and furious movie too if it is in 4K, so basically it is confirmed if we buy that, we will only get 1080p, and cannot free upgrade to 4k?

That's what I was told. Google Play also lists the 4K versions, but separately and they end up costing more than the collection.
