At 1 AM today, i was travelling eastbound on the off-ramp of 401 that intersects McCowan / Consilium. When my light turned green, I proceeded the intersection slowly, and was hit by a 96-00 Honda Civic Silver Hatchback travelling south on McCowan, who ran a red light. After the accident, the Civic just took off as fast as he could without stopping. He suffered front and passenger front damages.
Sighz... I filed a police report and things but they might not catch him (as expected) because the Civic took off too fast and I was not able to get a visual of his license plate.
Anyone one know any details please let me know.![]()

what a ***** ....He probably had no insurance.
Police will be on the look out for similar damage on the type of car. It would be nice to get some justice. Was your car totaled badly enough you couldn't drive anymore??? Too bad you didn't have a camera in the car or there was no redlight camera at the intersection.

check out some local civic forums. who knows you may find his car there. he might also start a thread asking about repairs and stuff saying "he hit a parking lot column, or something"

Anyone have a rough idea, how much would it cost to fix this? I wanna know because I hope it is not a write off (I won't know until Wednesday). BTW It's a 02 325xi with 127KM.

I'm thinking new hood, HIDs and fogs, bumper and probably rad?
I'll guess about $8,000, so probably not a write-off.
The civic should have much more damage - as in all along its side?

Ouch. At least you weren't hurt. Surprised that it seemed the first thing you did was to post here after the accident (instead of say go to the doctor to get checked out.)

I am curious though. If the Civic ran a red light wouldn't it hit your side and not the front?
Doesn't look like a write off to me as the cab is untouched and the engine compartment is pretty much intact. I am sure that your insurance company would take care of the cost of repair anyways._______________
You read it. You can't unread it.

the market value for that car is like under $20k so it looks like it's a write off.

Yeah, you're probably right. I was thinking that the car would be the mid-teens ($15,000 plus). I just check autotrader. It would probably retail for the low teens. So, if the front structure is compromised in any way or if there's real engine damage, it will be a write off.
If your read the OP's first post, he was coming from a 401 off ramp, so he was probably making a turn and the Civic ran a light going straight through the intersection.

From the look of the dmg, I would say the OP was turning left, the Civic ran the red and clipped him on the front left of bumper and swiped the rest of the front as he drove by.
Good luck to the OP, the police won't do anything, I got into a hit and run almost 2yrs ago, they told me there was nothing they can do. (Even though there are traffic cams in the area)
