Got a Sony F42AM flash, what a difference bounced flash makes
I had to make do with room lighting in the past, and even though I 'embraced' the noise, shooting at 800-1600 iso on a A200 RAW when indoors, with noise reduction done via noise ninja, the pictures still weren't what they could be. Built-in camera flash was not an option. I still got great pics considering the lighting conditions, but really it's a lot more work then needed.
What a difference having a real flash makes, bouncing off the ceiling. I'm sure everyone who's taken photography a while know this full well already, but for those who are just starting or plan on getting into it, get a real flash now. Proper lighting is at least as important as the lens itself and makes taking photos so much easier. Playing with lighting is fun

Too bad that the Sony flashes are outrageously priced...can't justify one ATM.
Congrats
