GPS - Freeway GD-075 Walmart $64

I'm willing to try hacking this one up if someone knows what I should do! I don't have an SD card reader, but will use my Canon camera to do the grunt work in that respect... lol.

Will that YFGo2CE.bld file boot it to Windows CE?

All the GPS's in this store were located in the Electronics Department locked in a cabinet. (very odd indeed, your post below about it being with the car audio stuff).

That is what I was told by the electronics employee at my store, but I ended up proving him wrong and found this unit, and only this unit, with the car audio stuff. Weird, but I'm not complaining!

I emailed them this morning as well, and surprisingly had a response in mere minutes! I was actually expecting my email to never be answered but I was pleasantly surprised. I received answers to my questions (not as techie as your Q's) pretty quickly and with appropriate information/reponses.

No, the units are not compatible with ActiveSync (as least not without hacking? Just speculating here as he didn't go into that detail), and the USB is set to charge-only, not as a data pipe of any sort. He didn't think POI's could be added just by inserting an SD card but didn't know for sure.

My plan to use the SD card I have isn't gonna happen, as I don't have an SD reader and was planning to use my camera connected via USB to load the files on, but as I said, this isn't happenin'.

As for the settings, there are no other settings available from any menu that I can see. There might be a back-door method using an SD card but I'm not going to be the one to find out - I don't have the time nor the expertise to do so. For $64 it's a nice unit with clear voice, good directions, and is really fast a recalculations -- exactly what I wanted in a GPS, for under $80 taxes in.

Try that file I mentioned above in the root of the SD card. You might be surprised to see a desktop!
