I thought most car seats shouldn't be imported from USA because of different safety standards. Is this an exception?

That was my understanding as well. I'm all for saving as much as I can, but car seats aren't something to mess around with

Definitely not something you want to mess around with. You can get in big trouble using an uncertified seat should you get in an accident.

Even when crossing the border, border guards has the right to possibly take the baby seat away from you if you told them it was purchased in the states as it has no CSA certification sticker.

Please close or remove thread!! I saw this and thought, damn this is a good deal for new parents, what a poor first post! :)

Just got off the phone with Graco, and they have confirmed that this seat is in fact different than our Canadian variant, even if it looks identical and has same model name. The seat was delayed in being released in Canada, It took them extra time to get the seat certified to Canadian standards.
