Im tempted to get one just for the time saving of not having to frequently sweep/vacuum my floors. How does this compare to irobot roombas? Anyone have comments for first hand experience?

Warning signs:
- direct ship products from group deal websites are almost always a bad deal
- can't find any reviews
- a google search indicates this company has participated in groupons before
- a google shopping search for "paranello vacuum" turns up no results
- $129 voucher means they're getting $64.50 + shipping. Since there aren't many people that frequently buy vacuums, the company is not in this to drum up new business; they're in this to make money. So if they're okay with getting $64.50 + shipping for this vacuum, that shows you the true value
No idea if this is a good product, but I'd avoid it based on the warning signs._______________

I've been looking at potentially getting a Roomba or similar robot vacuum. The $129 price tag is just within my budget. I'm tempted to pick this up as well but hesistant because of the poor reviews.
Anyone have first hand experience with this?

Found a review...
From here:
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/ho...3494609-8.html
Didn't seem to be that glowing...
Paranello review
To all who might want to buy a Paranello Multibot or any other item they sell:
This is not only a review of the Multibot but also a review of Paranello.
And their promise...They build the future....uhm uhm.....
At the end of December last year I was able to buy a Multibot for a low price through Groupon.
At that time I was a dummy concerning this new technology and thought this would be a good alternative for (for example) the more expensive Irobot Roomba.
Like I said I did not know better at that time!
Because of the high demand it took a while before I received my purchase.
When I used the Multibot for the first time it looked like it was a good cleaning vacuum robot.
But nothing was more true...
At first I had some questions about the docking station as it seemed that the robot always remained at the station even when the battery was full. I thought that this was not normal, it keeps consuming energy all the time, doesn’t it?
But after the third time in use the UV light (anti-bacterial) broke.
So I send my first mail to support @ paranello.com. I send a mail with my questions about the docking station and that this UV light was broken, I informed them the thing with the light was not my biggest concern as I mentioned that besides the UV light the cleaner itself seemed to work well (but the robot got stuck easily too / stopped in alarm).
What happened next surprised me!
I immediately received a phone call from the transportation company TNT that they want to pick up my package. Uhm?
I said I didn’t know what and why they want to pick up a package.
Soon after I received an email from Paranello that I rejected the pick up. So I knew then that it was about the robot.
I first wanted to receive an explanation to my questions. But they didn’t answer. They only wanted to pick up the device for repair in warranty....strange uh?
I could already guess that this PARANELLO customer care service was worse then ever. They use always the same sentences (take a look on the internet) they track down all the complaints given on the internet and reply (always the same), they don’t answer to your questions, they just don’t know nothing! I even asked to call me but they couldn’t as they haven’t got any phones...???
Perhaps this is a customer care somewhere far far away...? I even found out that Paranello has no contact address in Europe, which is not legal!
I was sick of sending mails back and forth so I played along and arranged the pick up.
It took almost two weeks to get back the vacuum cleaner, what was not that long but as soon as I tried the Multibot I saw that the UV light was still not working!!!
So I complained again by mail. They said to check the internal error by some buttons and so I did, as it was not written or explained in the user manual!
P.S. The user manual is very vague!!!The error code I sent back by mail to Paranello and they gave me no explanation whatever, what was wrong or I could do. As you might already guess, I got a phone call from TNT that they wanted to pick up a package...
After a few mails back and forth (again complaining about the docking station/UV light/...) I decided to agree to send back my device for a SECOND REPAIR, so without knowing why exactly...
This time it took a month before I got back the robot. The service report mentioned there was a battery problem (oh really did it?), main board and UV light were replaced. And surprise surprise! After the first charge I tried the cleaner again and it ran about 10 minutes and the robot returned to the docking station because of a flat battery...This can not be true!!!
So I tried again and again, always the same, 10 minutes after a full charge and flat battery again....return to docking station....
Again I sent my complaints and that I was sick of it! This was not the quality and service I thought it must be! So I said I want a refund of my money and one last time pick up of the device towards Paranello but no return to me.
No answer....
A few days later I sent back again that mail.
No answer...
In meantime I could look to other brands of cleaners because I really believe in these devices, especially when you have pets in the house, like I do. I want a new one but better quality but I accept the more expensive price too.
Because of the Groupon voucher I could buy it quite cheap. But the actual price is not that low compared to Irobot for example. I went to a store and asked them to test one of their Irobots, the Roomba 531. This one cost the same price as the Multibot!
At home the outer casing looked identical to the Multibot, but once you switch on the robot and watch it running you see immediately the difference.
It has a more advanced controller inside so like the rotation of the wheels when turning (less annoying noise!) and cleaning of a room is much much more better and done smoother than the Multibot. The roomba could exit small places much easier too.
It is clear to me that the Multibot is just a very CHEAP Hong Kong Chinese copy...
The Multibot also often got stuck at some places where the Irobot didn’t, the Irobot failed not even once at my home!
Again a thing to compare that the motors of the wheels are stronger, so better quality.
The service organisation who repair the devices are very bad doing their job I guess such will not happen with Irobot.
Two days ago I threatened that I would post this letter to every link what has to do with the name Paranello, to inform all of you about my experience.
Until now no reply....
SO,
To ALL who might think to buy a PARANELLO item I can only tell you
DO NOT BUY PARANELLO equipment!!!!
PARANELL = CHEAP PRODUCTS / MANY PROBLEMS / WORSE CUSTOMER CARE & AFTER SALE SERVICE EVER!!!
In case you bought something already most likely you feel the same as I do now....deceived!
Please inform as many people as you can because Paranello don’t build THE future, they build crap and THEIR future on YOUR money!!!!!!

Paranello's Robot
Dear Yamz66
If you wish to buy an Navigator or Multibot please ask people that have tried the product and who doesn't post with an anonymous
username to not be found, or doesn't want real help. I did try to contact this person several time without getting answers.
For info, we do have a After Sale Service in Europe (in France). Customers outside of France have their parcel picked up by TNT, to avoid customer to send
the parcel themselves to any country outside their own. Appointment with TNT is made by the customer not us as we do not know your availability.
so there is no way TNT will show at your door with no appointment.
Every faulty or defective Multibot is repaired and send back to you in a working state.
If you have any questions you can contact us at support(at) paranello.com.
Regards
Customer Care

i paid $129 on Groupon for this vacuum on 5/23/2012, I thought i got a great deal at beginning coz they said the value was $365. But my nightmare started after i bought this. Until today, i still haven't receive anything from them. I paid extra $24.90 through paypal, they took my money right away, the shipping status was "TO SHIP", I haven't receive any email confirmation from them or any updates of the shipping status. Two weeks later after this, I sent them an email with no response, so I sent them an message on facebook on 6/6 to check WHEN CAN I RECEIVE MY ORDER? the customer support said i'll get my order at/or around 7/11 which is today. So a month later, I still haven't receive my package, no email, no message, no phone call, no any updated under my Paranello account, the order status never been changed until today, still "TO SHIP".. It makes me feel like this company is a FRAUD, i sent them couple emails, plus contacted groupon. Groupon customer service contacted them, said someone will contact me within 3 days, and i did get an email from Paranello as below,
Dear Madam,
Thank you for contacting us.
I apologize for the inconvenience but there is no Paranello account attached to your e-mail adress.
Can you please send me more information ( such as the e-mail adress you used to open the account or the order number) ?
Waiting for your reply.

Dear Madam,
Thank you for contacting us.
I apologize for the inconvenience but there is no Paranello account attached to your e-mail adress.
Can you please send me more information ( such as the e-mail adress you used to open the account or the order number) ?

I wondered this was an automatically response from the website? I mean, are these guys look at the emails i sent to them? I sent them all my order information, with no response again. i finally contacted my bank to get my money back today. And i'm still waiting for paypal to get my shipping fee back, feel like i have to fight this company all the time to hear something from them.
To whom is interested in buying or going to buy anything from this company,
1. They will tell you they gonna ship your package out about 6 weeks. And you will get nothing, until you check with them, they will tell you there is an delay on shipping, when you finally contact the bank (luckily i called my bank on time), the bank will tell you usually they are be able to claim the dispute within 60 days after you made the purchase, so guys, that means if you haven't get their package within 60days, then you probably will lose your $$$ because the bank is not be able to claim the dispute....
2.If you are using Paypal, Check Paypal police, their are only be able to claim the dispute within 45 days after you made your purchase, so if you wait over 45 days, then you gonna lose your money.
3. Also, if really as they said, there is a delay on the shipping, can you guys provide any shipping information?? Usually UPS, FEDEX provide the shipping status, such as deliver date, i asked them, but this company CANNOT provide anything....
SO....
My experience was, until today, i never received anything from them in the past 2 months. i don't know about the quality of this, but i DO agree with NUKE here, this company is a fraud, they have NO SERVICES AT ALL!! I was so frustrated about this whole thing, still really MAD about it!! This "company" is such a JOKE!! Seriously!! Do not buy anything from them, i'd rather go to costco pay more to get something better.
PARANELL = CHEAP PRODUCTS / MANY PROBLEMS / WORSE CUSTOMER CARE & AFTER SALE SERVICE EVER!!!
I like NUKE's post earlier, I do feel the same way, after they took your money away, they don't care!
Good luck guys!

Hello Everyone
I am replying to give an explanation to other readers on these events, as I have already replied to Nancy in private - her order has been refunded on July 12th, before she posted on this forum.
It is not reasonable to compare the procedure required to send one parcel to a friend to the one required to send 10 000 items to customers.
DHL stores our goods in their warehouse. We do not own DHL, but we do rent a warehouse from them. When goods are sent from our factories to DHL warehouse for storage, they do not have an individual tracking number yet.
Once the goods arrive in DHL warehouse, they need to be picked, scanned (tracking number is given at that time) and then dispatched individually to our customers.
Unfortunately when the goods in question arrived at DHL Canada, they were blocked by the customs for several weeks; and for this reason we couldn't deliver at the announced time.
We know that that was a flaw in our logistic flow that has painfully impacted our customers and apologize for that.
As Nancy said, she never received our products – it therefore does not seem very reasonable of her to emit a judgment on their quality.
She did not receive the service she expected and ought to have received, and for that I apologize again on behalf of Paranello.
Unfortunately and as is natural, an unhappy experience will be more readily shared, whereas satisfied customers do not often publicize it ; but a bad experience also lets us learn from our mistakes and helps us do our best to daily improve the service we offer to our customers.

Don't give people this kind of crap of "don't judge on quality of product" and "unhappy experience will be more readily shared".
I was actually thinking of doing a Groupon purchase and most reviews I see complain about quality of products and services. On the other hand, positive experiences of Roomba has been CONSTANTLY being shared by their users.
I am so sorry, for the reviews I have seen I have not seen ONE positive experience. Oh, actually, I did see one or two, but they are so brief and vague that they don't even worth mentioning and I suspect it's just the same hack like you (on the other hand, negative experience of your company has so much details, and positive experience with Roomba also has details).
It's not as if you knew about this the first day and you don't have time to correct it. If your company would spend the resource on hiring hacks to find negative reviews and try to "debunk" them (like what you are doing), and spend the resource on building better customer support and better product, the negative reviews would be long gone.
Seeing you guys are so actively trying to do the work on forums totally extinguish my desire to buy from you. From the last time I remember, only crappy companies or fraud do this kind of marketing. The good and legit ones always work on the customer service and product and they understand if they can provide better stuff to people, online comments would automatically be on the positive side.

Paranello has no phone#, no address.... Fraud!
*****!...Unlike some customers, We have received your product, but it was used when we got it. So we arranged for an exchange and sent it back although the return shipping was surprisingly paid back, we never received a new steam mop or refund. After numerous emails you finally wrote that this case is closed, saying that the mop was shipped and sent us the tracking # for the used mop you shipped in September (the one we returned). So basically we paid you $80 for 3 months of frustration and nothing else. So QUALITY SUCKS, CUSTOMER SERVICE is HORRIBLE, you are nothing but frauds. If you were legit you would have a phone number and an address. We are now going to deal with the Better Business Bureau, Paypal consumer protection and also file a BBB complaint against Groupon in hopes that they will cut you off. So to any one out there reading this PARANELLO IS A SCAM !
