its already 2 generations old, you can buy a new midrange/low range that would perform better than that.

This is in fact, a terrible deal. A Pixel 1 XL was available for this price, new; months ago on Ebay. I cannot express enough how bad of a deal this is.

Yup as others have stated way too old and the price is pretty high. For $60 more you can get the Xiaomi Pocophone which has latest specs and double the capacity.

Koodo has a brand new Pixel XL for $460 too, but still it is a terrible deal. Its on last update year (major) and there are far better alternatives for the price.
Koodo $40 8GB

I got a grade A refurb pixel XL for $299 (cad) off eBay a few months ago. Way better deals out there than this one :)

Not a great deal but ok. The phone is ok but since it's refurbished I would stay away lots of newer phones out there at similar prices with warranty still intact.

Way better deals out there. There are great deals on Pixel 2 XL's on Kijiji. I've seen mint condition ones on there for $400. Some brand new ones for $500-650. Just make sure to verify that it isn't blacklisted when meeting the seller, and ask for proof of purchase for warranty purposes. Also, test out your sim card before giving the seller your money. I got lucky and managed to buy a brand new pixel 2 xl 128 GB on Kijiji for $500...but you won't find these sort of deals every day

Yeah not a good deal, I got a 128GB OG XL refurb on eBay in April for $325 CAD shipped.

I agree it’s not a great deal. But current midrange phones would not perform better than the first generation Pixel. The Pixel has a Snapdragon 821, find me a mid range with a better processor.

the 636 in the xiaomi note 5 has a faster clock speed and 8 threads compared to 4, it would be at least the same speed if not faster. also twice the storage space for less money

Snapdragon 821 is faster overall than 636 and 660. While CPU performance is close, Snapdragon 821 has a much better GPU.
performance aside, Pixel has a Samsung made AMOLED screen, which is much better than almost all midrange phones. The pixel camera is still one of the best and will be even better when Google pushes the new camera software.
So, I think the pixel is still a solid choice over most midrange/budget phones.
Though, Pie is probably the last major Android update for the pixel.

Not a big deal since most flagship phones are still on Oreo
