Hey, i browse site a lot but dont post much. Anyway here to share a story and some advise that i hope will help others, heres my story.

I knew this girl. We went to high school together from grade 8 to 12, around grade 10 i started talking to her a bit. A lot of the girls i knew got drunk all the time and got around, this girl was different. She was drop dead beautiful, smart funny and the nicest person I have ever met.

So we started hanging out more and more and after like a year i finally made a move and we started going out. It was the best years of my life.....she was only person i trusted and was my best friend.

Then University Came and we ended up going to same school, didn't really plan on it but it turned out that way. Anyway all my friends and even her parents were saying that we should break up since it is university cause it will be to hard and that is where everyone goes and hooks up with everyone... meet new people. So foolishly 3 days in i break up with her. Thinking im doing the right thing.

We still keep hooking up though but less and less and finally stop 2 month later due to both of us being so busy. Anyway I go around, meet new girls hook up with some just as pretty or more than her, but still they didnt compare.

Now Today I realize that I am still madly in love with here. I tried to hide what i felt and convince myself I didnt miss her but i thought about her everyday since september. I tried to get her back last night but I had no luck, and sadly i dont think i will ever have that chance again.

The Moral of the story is not think how things could be better when they are already good. Many guys and girls think they could be better off with or without someone eles. But when you realize how good it was when it's gone, its the most painful feeling in the world. Seriously if you find that someone that you love and is your bestfriend... dont let them go, or you will become heartbroken like me.

Your first real girlfriend will linger in your memory for the rest of your life - it's just a fact of your first romance. They're the ones who have introduced you to all these new feelings and experiences.

Everybody has a sad story about the one that got away ESPECIALLY the first one. If it's meant to be, you'll get back together. If not, it never was to be.

I tell my daughter that boys will come and go and that trying to fall in love with someone at such a young age is not healthy, that she needs to see a diverse selection of guys and that will allow her to base what she wants out of someone. As I tell her, if you have only known one guy how are you suppose to compare and know whats out there.

Now in your situation you are a bit older and have dated more then a handful of people i assume. If you truly love someone and they do not love you in return then maybe it was not ment to be. Maybe having her in your heart opens the way for the true Mrs. Right who is right around the corner. I believe everything happens for a reason and the actions you take today effect what happens to you tomorrow.

Tell her how you feel and let her know that understand that your time together may have passed but you wanted to let her know your feelings regardless and then cherish your friendship as they are the hardest to keep close
