What do you guys think of new development Hiddenbrook by Tiffany Park and Whitby Meadows? Their starting price on townhomes are much lower than New Seaton project? What's the pro and con?

Here is another link for you.

Durham Average Selling Price Continues To Increase Year-Over-Year

ps this is actually relevant to the topic.
TREB stat for more info

Durham region doing +7.29% compare to last year, when York region is doing only 1.9%.
Real estate guys interpret the numbers which arrange them and their clients (one time Y/Y, one time compare to last month, one time a specific date)

This is the first time I see Markham and Richmond hill market going down except condo (Y/Y)

PS: Durham is part of Toronto housing market

Pro is that they are significantly cheaper than New Seaton and close to 401 & 412
Con is that they are 25 km South East of New Seaton and in not a very nice area of Whitby.

Although area doesn't seem to matter as people seem very interested in Whitby Meadows and Phase 1 is backing onto CN rail lines and the Sales Associate told me that it will be loud.

I think if you plan on living in it Hiddenbrook by Tiffany Park is more bang for your buck. As for resale I think they are still overpriced for the current market. Just my opinion.

I went up there to grab one but there was no way I was going close to that mess.
From the line up April 1st....to a builders model that now includes all the staging furniture for $799...that listed in June at $930

Wonder what the pre con flip crowd is thinking? Although this model appeared to be selling for $800 as pre con in April...maybe the builder just got crazy greedy at $930 at a time the market was slowing?

Yes, i was there in the lineup that day...it was FREEZING and we were waiting outside for hours. The prices seemed high even then, i walked away. Wonder what the prices are for their most recent phase 4 release...does anyone have a price list

Haha, no one even cared enough to post it...the love is gone. Good on you for walking away when it seemed too outrageous. May have saved yourself a lot of money even if you bought now vs back then. The deals are better in resale though than new. The builders are trying to hold their line on prices.

So true. Have been looking at new builds for 6 months now. Just ended up purchasing a 1 year old home resale for just about 200K less than builders in the same area were asking.
