Guillermo Del Toro's The Shape of Water

Guillermo Del Toro's next effort will be the Cold War-era fairytale, The Shape of Water.

While details have long been kept under wraps, we’re hearing that the fairytale, set in 1963, centers around Elisa (Hawkins), a mute janitor working at a lab where an amphibious man is being held captive. When Elisa falls in love with the creature, she devises a plan to help him escape with the assistance of her neighbor (Jenkins). The world outside of the lab, however, may prove to be more dangerous for the amphibious man than Elisa could have anticipated.

PM is working now

The movie was a big time flop, we walked out 15 minutes before the ending

Like I said one of the worst movies added to our list of 'bad movies'

I disagree... the movie is pretty good and the story unveils magically before your eyes. If you thought you were going for a science fiction movie, I understand your disappointment... this is more of a romance story with a magical reality background

The conversation that Shannon has when he's using the urinal about hygiene is wonderful.

OMG, yes. Actually questioned my own...
Great characters and well written. An excellent love story.
I didn't expect all the underlying sexual tones but wasn't put off by them at all.

Same.
I'm starting to wash my hands before :)

If you want a wonderful companion piece to this movie, please make it your top prerogative to check out the AGO's 'At Home with Monsters' exhibit - only until January 7th.
One of the best I've seen.
