Get ready to suit up, Gundam fans: Legendary Entertainment announced today that it’s bringing the nearly four decade-old franchise into the 21st century with a live action feature film that promises to reintroduce the iconic series to a new generation.

Via multiple industry reports, Legendary said at Anime Expo today in Los Angeles that it will partner with Japanese animation studio Sunrise — the original creator behind the 1979-debuting series — to bring a live action Gundam movie to theaters.

will be a legend production - I doubt it'll turn out well. pacific rim 2 tanked badly. I also believe they will resort to hiring many Chinese actors to get a chance at the Chinese market.

Seems a bit premature unless they're further along than apparent. A Forbes contributor thought concept art would've gone further to mollify fans

Do they mean gundam seed or gundam seed destiny? They have so many different gundam series it's hard to tell what they mean, or how they are related to each other (if at all).

Are you asking about the free movies or the source material for the "live-action" Gundam movies in the works?

Michael Bay's philosophy for depicting large robots boiled down to "no milk cartons"
That was pretty dismissive but ultimately accurate to the animated look
Now it seems filmmakers can't get away from the exposed pistons, overly busy pipes, metal hoses aesthetic
Concept art tagged as ILM, so there's that
